FAQ's
What is the fundraising commitment?
Runners commit to raising a minimum of £2,500 (excluding Gift Aid) by 31st May 2027. We require you to reach at least £1000 of your target by 1st January 2027. All funds must be paid directly to IMPAKT Housing & Support. Your fundraising directly supports our vital work with people experiencing homelessness, domestic abuse, and food insecurity in our communities.
Is there a registration fee?
Yes, successful applicants will be required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of £50 within 7 working days of receiving their confirmation email. This fee helps cover IMPAKT’s costs for participating in the event.
What happens after I'm offered a place?
If selected, you will need to:
- Pay the £50 registration fee within 7 working days
- Complete your official TCS London Marathon registration when prompted by email
- Set up an online fundraising page using Enthuse (the official London Marathon fundraising platform) within 2 weeks of accepting your place
What support will I receive?
As part of Team IMPAKT, you’ll receive:
- An IMPAKT running vest/t-shirt
- Personalised fundraising support and guidance
- Regular check-ins from our fundraising team
- WhatsApp support throughout your journey
- Cheering points and a post-race meet-up (subject to confirmation)
What happens if I need to withdraw from the marathon?
If you need to withdraw for any reason, please inform IMPAKT as soon as possible. All donations received will be retained by IMPAKT unless your supporters request a refund in writing within one month of your cancellation (not applicable for online donations).
If you withdraw within one month of the event, you remain liable for at least £450 to cover IMPAKT’s event costs.
Can I defer my place to the following year?
If you notify us before February 2027 and wish to defer your place, we will assess deferral requests on a case-by-case basis, dependent on your fundraising total and efforts. We cannot guarantee a place the following year.
How much of my fundraising goes to the charity?
100% of the money raised will directly support our work providing housing support, domestic abuse services, and food security in the community.
Do I need to be an experienced runner?
While marathon training requires dedication, runners of all experience levels are welcome to apply. It is strongly advised that you follow a marathon training plan to avoid injury or illness. If you have any concerns about your physical ability to participate, please consult your GP.
What if the London Marathon is cancelled?
If the event is cancelled or postponed by the organizers, IMPAKT will follow the London Marathon Events Ltd policy regarding places and fundraising.
Can I give or sell my place to someone else?
No, the swapping or sale of race numbers is strictly prohibited for safety reasons and for identification by medical staff.
What if I don't meet the fundraising target?
IMPAKT reserves the right to withdraw your London Marathon 2027 place if it appears that the minimum fundraising targets will not be met or if sufficient effort to reach the required amount is not being made.
Where do I collect my race pack?
You are required to collect your race pack from the TCS London Marathon Running Show in the week before the race. Details will be provided in your runner information.
Will you use photos of me for publicity?
Unless you state otherwise in writing to IMPAKT, you agree that images and videos taken of your training and at the event may be used by IMPAKT in promotional material, including our website, social media platforms, newsletter and print. To opt out, please contact fundraising@impakt.org.uk.
What information do you collect from me?
IMPAKT will collect personal data including your name, email, phone number, date of birth, gender, and postal code. This information will only be used to provide our services in connection with the event and will be shared with TCS London Marathon for registration purposes. Your information will not be passed to other third parties without your consent.
