IMPAKT preloved is based in the heart of Bedford, and supports people and communities throughout the county of Bedfordshire and the surrounding areas.

Our main focus is the supply of re-usable furniture and domestic appliances, everything from chairs, tables and lounge suites to beds, wardrobes, washing machines and cookers, preventing such items from ending up in landfill needlessly.

We purchase almost all the food for our free-to-us

We purchase almost all the food for our free-to-use community larder IMPAKT food. 🥦🍞🧈🍚
Most of this is brought through subscriptions to services, including Neighbourly and FareShare. These are services that distribute surplus food from large manufacturers and supermarkets. We also purchase food to supplement this stock wherever the food from our main suppliers is low. We have seen a considerable reduction in the amount of fresh produce and can spend upwards of £80 a week in supplementary shopping to ensure we have enough food for those we support.
We are having a Charity Curry Evening on the 26th of October to support our larder. A portion of your ticket price will be donated directly to IMPAKT food, and we have some other great fundraising activities planned for the evening. Plus, some fantastic Indian food!

Did you know that we are part of IMPAKT housing and support? We have over 200 bed spaces across our accommodations. Take a look at Linden House, our stage two housing for 18-65-year-olds. Made up of self-contained studios, it houses residents who may move here as a part of their pathway to fully independent living.
